A Better Way to Train Goalies
Our mission is to build elite goalies through specialized hockey goaltending coaching focused on delivering high-level individualized training.
We provide expert coaching, focused skill development, and a long-term development model tailored specifically to goalies.
This includes:
Strong focus on fundamentals: Understanding footwork technique, positioning (angles, squareness, depth, etc), hockey IQ, and why arriving at the correct spot is important, are all key fundamentals we focus on.
Off-ice training: Establish and develop hand placement, hand-eye coordination, balance, and core strength. All key aspects that set elite goalies apart.
A positive environment where goalies feel supported: Goalies can feel “on an island” and neglected. We understand that, and coach the mental aspects of the game that make goaltending so different.
Goalies leave our sessions understanding why they do things — not just copying drills.
I grew up in Detroit in a hockey family and started playing organized hockey at age 8. Within a few months, I found my place in the crease as a goalie—and I’ve loved the position ever since. I played competitive hockey throughout the Midwest during my school years and continued my career as a goalie at Western Michigan University, where I played on the club team and studied Kinesiology and Athletic Training.
After finishing my playing career, I transitioned into coaching and have spent over 20 years working with young goalies at various ages and skill levels. My coaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals, game awareness, and confidence in the crease. I believe that great goaltending is not just about technical skills, but also about mindset, preparation, and learning how to respond to both success and adversity during games.
I truly love coaching, especially those moments when everything clicks for a student, and they fully understand what we’ve been working on. One of my favorite parts is hearing about goalies’ successes after games, knowing they’ve implemented new skills with confidence.
In 2025, I decided to go “all in”—and I’ve never been happier. I live in Indianapolis with my wonderful and endlessly supportive wife, Helena, and our very energetic rescue dog, Nola. We love exploring local parks and taking advantage of the outdoor activities Indy has to offer, then letting Nola nap while Helena and I check out new restaurants around the city.
